A cook/chef is an integral part of the Latin Bites team, responsible for creating and executing the restaurant’s menu offerings with precision and care. This role requires extensive knowledge of Latin American cuisine, including the ability to prepare dishes according to traditional recipes, as well as a deep understanding of cooking techniques and flavor profiles. Cooks/chefs must be adept at working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, often preparing multiple dishes at once while ensuring that each plate meets the restaurant’s exacting standards. They may also be responsible for creating new menu items or modifying existing ones, requiring an exceptional level of creativity and ingenuity.

Successful cooks/chefs at Latin Bites possess a passion for food and a dedication to culinary excellence. They must be detail-oriented and possess excellent time management skills, working efficiently and effectively to produce high-quality dishes while managing their own workloads. In addition, they must be able to work collaboratively with other kitchen staff, communicating effectively to ensure that orders are executed flawlessly and efficiently. Finally, cooks/chefs must be able to maintain a clean, organized workspace and follow all relevant food safety guidelines.

The Prep Cook is responsible for providing a supportive role to kitchen staff in the preparation of meals and ingredients.

Their duties include organizing and labeling food items in storage closets, performing tasks like chopping ingredients and sanitizing their work station during and after service.

Other duties and responsibilities may include:

• Completing all tasks, in order, on the prep list from the Head Chef or other kitchen manager
• Labeling and stocking all ingredients on easily accessible shelves
• Washing, chopping and sorting ingredients like fruits, vegetables and meats
• Measuring quantities of seasonings and other cooking ingredients
• Parboiling food, reducing sauces and starting first steps in various dishes
• Cleaning dishes, washing cooking utensils and cookware, taking out the trash and sanitizing kitchen
• Adhering to all relevant nutrition and sanitary regulations and standards
• Keeping track of ingredient inventory and collaborating with other kitchen and management staff to order resupply

An Attendant’s main responsibilities are taking food and beverage orders and ensuring that customers’ orders are received to their satisfaction.

Additional attendant job duties generally include:

• Assembling and packing food orders in carry-out containers and bags
• Assisting cooks with food preparation
• Taking payments for food orders and providing correct change
• Cleaning work areas
• Stocking condiments and beverages
• Taking customer orders via telephone and mobile apps

The Food Truck Operator is responsible for driving the truck and running services, as well as ensuring all employees follow in-house policies and procedures and meet with all health and safety procedures and requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day operations on food truck
• Manage, train, and develop all truck team members
• Ensure employees follow proper sanitation procedures
• Prepare and serve food
• Ensure food safety standards are maintained while food is being cooked
• Drive the truck to our vending locations

Requirements:

• Restaurant/food service/food truck experience is a plus
• ServSafe Manager Certified within 30 days
• Excellent communication skills
• Aptitude for fast-paced work

• Driver’s license/clean driving record
